Hardware Warranty Policy
1. Warranty Period
This warranty applies to any CropVue IoT device controller that is covered by a valid, current, paid or complimentary annual rental agreement for the duration of the rental period. Valid extensions of the rental period will also extend the warranty period.

2. Warranty Coverage
This warranty covers the replacement of any CropVue IoT device controller if it is found to have a defect in materials or workmanship that prevent it from functioning as detailed in the user manual under normal use and service conditions. This includes damage in transit to the customer, if reported within 10 days of receipt and documented with a photo of the shipment condition.
Briefly, normal use and service conditions include mounting the device at least 50cm above ground level, periodically cleaning camera lenses and solar cells, and usage in temperatures from -20C to +40C, as well as rain and snow.

3. Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:

External Damage: Damage caused by:

Physical impact (e.g., drops, breaks, scratches, regardless of whether caused by human, animal, nature, or farm equipment)

Inadequate packaging in transit when returning units to CropVue (e.g., no bubble wrap or use of CropVue packaging liners to secure unit from moving). Damage sustained during transit, prior to receipt by customer is covered (see section 2). Please see user manual for proper packaging instructions.

Water Damage: Damage caused by exposure to water, chemicals, or excessive moisture, including, but not limited to:

Immersion in water

Exposure to corrosive chemicals, direct irrigation, or mud

Battery Drain: Battery failure or damage caused by:

Leaving the device powered on for extended periods of time without sunlight to recharge solar cell

Misuse or Abuse: Damage caused by unintentional or deliberate misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, or improper installation, including vandalism.

Cellular Service: Use of the device in an area with no cellular service

Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications: Damage caused by unauthorized repairs, modifications, or opening of device

Acts of God: Damage caused by unforeseeable and uncontrollable natural events, such as severe weather conditions (e.g., hailstorms, hurricanes, and tornadoes), earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, and other natural disasters. These events are beyond human control and typically not covered by standard insurance or warranty policies.

4. Replacement Process
To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must:

Contact CropVue customer support within 10 days of discovering the defect.

Provide proof of a valid and current rental agreement.

Return the defective device to CropVue at CropVue expense. Shipping labels will be supplied by CropVue.
Upon receipt of the defective device and verification of the warranty claim, CropVue will evaluate the device and provide a replacement, either new or refurbished.
For devices that are determined to be outside of the warranty coverage, a replacement fee of USD $150 will be incurred. This fee must be paid in full prior to the shipment of the replacement unit. Replacement units will be shipped within 5 days of payment.
For devices covered under warranty, the replacement will be shipped within 5 business days of CropVue's receipt of the defective device.

5. No Other Warranties
This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
